PETG is a transparent thermoplastic chosen for the fabrication of The Feline Solarium because it exceeds acrylic in both strength and durability.

The Feline Solarium is constructed to be of the highest quality. Each seam in the main housing of The Feline Solarium is reinforced twice. First, each seam is solvent bonded. Then, each seam is welded with a rod of PETG material. This weld in each seam forms one continuous piece of PETG material adding strength and durability. Welding this rod in each seam eliminates the worry of failing solvent bonding.

The roof of The Feline Solarium is pitched away from the window to ensure water runoff. A drip edge on the bottom of the unit ensures that water does not run back toward the house.

Below you will find the PETG data sheet containing typical physical properties and performance comparison PETG vs. Acrylic.
